14,100 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 14,100 bed nights (+0.8 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Kokkola in August 2018. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 92 % and non-registered 7.9 %.
Between January and August, the number of paid bed nights was 90,500 (+1.2 %). Share of registered was 93 % and non-registered 6.7 %.

In August 2018, 13,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Kokkola (-1.0 %), of which 11,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased two percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 22 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased one percent from last year's August.
7,200 nights (+1.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,800 nights (-4.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 75,000 registered bed nights (-2.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 9,500 (+5.1 %) for foreigners in Kokkola, in total 84,400 (-1.7 %) registered nights.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased four percent compared to earlier year. In Kokkola, length of stay in August was on average 1.6 nights and in Finland 1.8 nights (-0.8 %).
During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kokkola on average 1.5 nights (-4.2 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+21.4 %).

Total accommodation sales in August were 729,000 euro (+24,500). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 3.9 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 700,000 euro (+20,100) and non-registered sales 28,300 euro (+4,300).
Total January-August sales were 5.0 million euro and they increased 106,000 euro from the previous year.
