6,500 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 6,500 bed nights (+12.4 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Kokkola in December 2018. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 83 % and non-registered 17 %.
Between January and December, the number of paid bed nights was 129,000 (+3.4 %). Share of registered was 92 % and non-registered 7.9 %.

In December 2018, 5,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Kokkola (-1.5 %), of which 4,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 750 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased one percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased three percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased one percent from last year's December.
2,400 nights (-8.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,000 nights (+4.9 %) by business visitors.

Length of stay increased five percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. In Kokkola, length of stay in December was on average 1.7 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+1.4 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kokkola on average 1.5 nights (-2.3 %) and foreigners 4.7 nights (+16.2 %).

Total accommodation sales in December were 371,000 euro (+21,100). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 7.7 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 342,000 euro (+960) and non-registered sales 28,500 euro (+20,100).
Total January-December sales were 7.5 million euro and they increased 336,000 euro from the previous year.
