4,700 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 4,700 bed nights (-44.4 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Kokkola in March 2020. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 75 % and non-registered 25 %.
Between January and March, the number of paid bed nights was 20,400 (-13.0 %). Share of registered was 82 % and non-registered 18 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. In March 2020, 3,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Kokkola (-52.1 %), of which 3,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 520 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 53 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 43 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 52 percent from last year's March.
1,500 nights (-58.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,000 nights (-46.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 14,500 registered bed nights (-20.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,300 (-12.0 %) for foreigners in Kokkola, in total 16,800 (-19.1 %) registered nights.

Length of stay increased nine percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Kokkola, length of stay in March was on average 1.7 nights and in Finland 2.3 nights (+14.6 %).
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kokkola on average 1.5 nights (+1.0 %) and foreigners 3.7 nights (+2.3 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 56 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.4 percent were domestic, and 6.6 percent were from foreign countries.

Total accommodation sales in March were 281,000 euro (-280,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 8.3 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 257,000 euro (-280,000) and non-registered sales 23,400 euro (+380).
Total January-March sales were 1.3 million euro and they decreased 275,000 euro from the previous year.
