November 2020

5,900 registered bed nights

In November 2020, 5,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Kokkola (-26.5 %), of which 5,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 220 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 17 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 81 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 27 percent from last year's November.

2,600 nights (-28.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,400 nights (-25.4 %) by business visitors.

Total of 817,000 registered bed nights (-47.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 730,000 nights (-34.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 86,800 nights (-81.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kokkola out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

3,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 33 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.5 percent were domestic, and 2.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kokkola on average 1.7 nights (+0.27) and foreigners 2.6 nights (-1.3).

Total accommodation sales in November were 438,000 euro (-191,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 4.7 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 418,000 euro (-186,000) and non-registered sales 20,600 euro (-5,200).

Total January-November sales were 5.3 million euro and they decreased 1.9 million euro from the previous year.
