38,300 registered bed nights (April)

In April 2023, 38,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Kolari (-13.2 %), of which 35,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased three percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 13 percent from last year's April.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (980 nights).

35,900 nights (-12.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,500 nights (-18.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 106,000 registered bed nights (-8.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 106,000 (+10.6 %) for foreigners in Kolari, in total 212,000 (+0.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.5 million registered bed nights (-3.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (-7.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 261,000 nights (+20.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kolari out of total registered bed nights was 2.5 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.8 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

Total of 236,000 registered bed nights (-5.1 %) were recorded in Lapland, of which 190,000 nights (-12.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 46,400 nights (+42.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kolari out of total registered bed nights in Lapland was 16.2 %, out of domestic bed nights 18.5 % and foreign bed nights 7.0 %.

8,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (April)

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.4 percent were domestic, and 8.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kolari on average 4.5 nights (-0.43) and foreigners 4.4 nights (-0.57).

Total accommodation sales in April were 3.3 million euro (-359,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 38.0 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 2.0 million euro (-317,000) and non-registered sales 1.2 million euro (-41,900).

Total January-April sales were 17.4 million euro and they increased 194,000 euro from the previous year.
