Kolari: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased 11 percent
In June 2019, 3,200 bed nights were recorded in Kolari (+10.8 %), of which 2,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 570 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased three percent and foreign bed nights increased 78 percent. In total, bed nights increased 11 percent from last year's June.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Switzerland (193 nights).
3,200 nights (+13.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 75 nights (-42.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 117,000 bed nights (-2.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 103,000 (-2.2 %) for foreigners in Kolari, in total 221,000 (-2.5 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 24 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 75.5 percent were domestic, and 24.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kolari on average 2.7 nights (-0.03) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-1.2).
