10,800 registered bed nights (August)

In August 2022, 10,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Kolari (-14.6 %), of which 9,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 990 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 19 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 73 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 15 percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Switzerland (450 nights).

9,500 nights (-16.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,300 nights (+4.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 153,000 registered bed nights (+10.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 98,900 (+4,174.0 %) for foreigners in Kolari, in total 252,000 (+78.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.3 million registered bed nights (+12.6 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.8 million nights (-2.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 560,000 nights (+114.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kolari out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Total of 200,000 registered bed nights (-6.2 %) were recorded in Lapland, of which 148,000 nights (-20.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 51,500 nights (+88.4 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kolari out of total registered bed nights in Lapland was 5.4 %, out of domestic bed nights 6.6 % and foreign bed nights 1.9 %.

3,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (August)

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 34 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 91.2 percent were domestic, and 8.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kolari on average 2.9 nights (+0.65) and foreigners 3.1 nights (+0.76).

Accommodation sales 1.4 million euro (August)

Total accommodation sales in August were 1.4 million euro (+50,100). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 75.2 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 356,000 euro (-232,000) and non-registered sales 1.1 million euro (+282,000).

Total January-August sales were 22.7 million euro and they increased 6.3 million euro from the previous year.
