Kolari: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased 29 percent (July)
In July 2020, 15,100 bed nights were recorded in Kolari (+29.2 %), of which 15,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 149 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 45 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 89 percent. In total, bed nights increased 29 percent from last year's July.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (22 nights).
13,900 nights (+27.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,200 nights (+57.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and July, 79,600 bed nights (-37.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 91,500 (-12.7 %) for foreigners in Kolari, in total 171,000 (-26.4 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 44 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 98.7 percent were domestic, and 1.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kolari on average 1.9 nights (-0.21) and foreigners 1.5 nights (-0.68).
