Registered bed nights increased 169 percent

In February 2022, 54,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Kolari (+169.0 %), of which 18,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 35,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 33,000 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 169 percent from last year's February.

53,600 nights (+183.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 820 nights (-38.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and February, 30,700 registered bed nights (-3.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 72,600 (+27,808.1 %) for foreigners in Kolari, in total 103,000 (+221.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 3.9 percent

Total of 1.4 million registered bed nights (+56.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.0 million nights (+21.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 384,000 nights (+554.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kolari out of total registered bed nights was 3.9 % (+1.6 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.8 % and foreign bed nights 9.3 %.

Market share in Lapland 14.7 percent

Total of 371,000 registered bed nights (+156.0 %) were recorded in Lapland, of which 133,000 nights (-0.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 237,000 nights (+1,990.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kolari out of total registered bed nights in Lapland was 14.7 %, out of domestic bed nights 14.1 % and foreign bed nights 15.0 %.

11,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 139 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 47.1 percent were domestic, and 52.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kolari on average 3.5 nights (-0.75) and foreigners 5.9 nights (+2.3).

Accommodation sales 4.2 million euro

Total accommodation sales in February were 4.2 million euro (+1.8 million). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 27.6 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 3.0 million euro (+2.1 million) and non-registered sales 1.2 million euro (-301,000).

Total January-February sales were 8.0 million euro and they increased 3.9 million euro from the previous year.
