Registered bed nights increased 10 percent (Kotka-Hamina And Lovisa Region)

In April 2022, 10,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Kotka-Hamina And Lovisa Region (+10.4 %), of which 8,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 19 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 22 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 10 percent from last year's April.

There was a total of 11,200 visa applications to Finland made by the Russians. 84.0 percent were done at St. Petersburg's consulate.

The number of foreign visitors in April was -850 (-162.2 %). Out of them -660 were on a daytrip and -191 stayed at least for one night.

The cumulative number of foreign visitors between January and April was -3,800 (-243.3 %).

Total consumption of these visitors in Lovisa Region in April was 1,300 euro (-2 per visitor). Overnight visitors spent 29,600 euro and day visitors -28,300 euro. Between January and April the consumption was -118,000 euro.

The number of domestic visitors in April was 50,400 (+34.7 %). Out of them 37,600 were on a daytrip and 12,900 stayed at least for one night.

The cumulative number of domestic visitors between January and April was 138,000 (+16.1 %).

Total consumption of these visitors in Kotka-Hamina And Lovisa Region in April was 2.8 million euro (55 per visitor). Overnight visitors spent 1.2 million euro and day visitors 1.5 million euro. Between January and April the consumption was 7.8 million euro.

Accommodation sales 910,000 euro (Kotka-Hamina And Lovisa Region)

Total accommodation sales in April were 910,000 euro (+48,700). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 16.3 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 761,000 euro (+137,000) and non-registered sales 148,000 euro (-87,900).

Total January-April sales were 2.4 million euro and they decreased 294,000 euro from the previous year.
