Registered bed nights increased 29 percent (March)
In March 2022, 4,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Kotka (+28.9 %), of which 3,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 450 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 26 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 56 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 29 percent from last year's March.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Sweden (82 nights).
1,700 nights (+35.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,600 nights (+24.8 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 10,700 registered bed nights (+17.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 1,000 (-18.0 %) for foreigners in Kotka, in total 11,700 (+13.1 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 37 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.3 percent were domestic, and 10.7 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kotka on average 1.7 nights (-0.01) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-2.5).

In March 2022, 38,200 domestic visitor days were recorded in Kotka (-69.4 %). Registered nights by domestic visitors equaled 11,200 (-59.7 %).
Between January and March, 105,000 domestic visitor days were recorded in Kotka (-64.1 %). Registered nights by domestic visitors equaled 33,100 (-46.3 %).
The number of visitor days means the total number of days spent by domestic tourists in the area. The tourist must stay in the area for at least half an hour to be counted. They are also not counted in the statistics if they visit the area regularly.
