7,200 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 7,200 bed nights (+3.3 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Kotka in March 2018. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 81 % and non-registered 19 %.
Between January and March, the number of paid bed nights was 22,100 (+11.7 %). Share of registered was 81 % and non-registered 19 %.

5,800 registered bed nights
In March 2018, 5,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Kotka (-11.4 %), of which 4,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,700 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 13 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased seven percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 11 percent from last year's March.
2,600 nights (-11.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,100 nights (-11.2 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 10,600 registered bed nights (-18.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,300 (+29.6 %) for foreigners in Kotka, in total 17,900 (-3.8 %) registered nights.

Length of stay increased two percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. In Kotka, length of stay in March was on average 1.8 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-0.6 %).
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kotka on average 1.6 nights (-9.5 %) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+17.6 %).
3,300 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 13 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 76.7 percent were domestic, and 23.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kotka on average 1.6 nights (+0.02) and foreigners 2.2 nights (+0.08).

Accommodation sales 407,000 euro
Total accommodation sales in March were 407,000 euro (-33,500). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 6.3 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 382,000 euro (-51,400) and non-registered sales 25,500 euro (+17,900).
Total January-March sales were 1.2 million euro and they increased 16,200 euro from the previous year.
