15,000 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 15,000 bed nights (+1.0 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Kotka in June 2018. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 87 % and non-registered 13 %.
Between January and June, the number of paid bed nights was 56,800 (+5.2 %). Share of registered was 83 % and non-registered 17 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Paid bed nights
13,000 registered bed nights
In June 2018, 13,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Kotka (-4.8 %), of which 9,800 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 29 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased five percent from last year's June.
8,800 nights (-10.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,200 nights (+10.6 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 32,200 registered bed nights (-17.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 15,200 (+28.5 %) for foreigners in Kotka, in total 47,300 (-6.5 %) registered nights.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Kotka, length of stay in June was on average 1.7 nights and in Finland 1.8 nights (-0.0 %).
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kotka on average 1.6 nights (-6.5 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (+3.3 %).
7,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 77.1 percent were domestic, and 22.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kotka on average 1.6 nights (-0.11) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.27).

Accommodation sales 740,000 euro
Total accommodation sales in June were 740,000 euro (+64,600). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 6.0 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 695,000 euro (+50,200) and non-registered sales 44,700 euro (+14,400).
Total January-June sales were 3.0 million euro and they increased 137,000 euro from the previous year.
