Kristiansand Region: Tourism in a nutshell

141,000 registered bed nights
In August 2022, 141,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Kristiansand Region (-5.4 %), of which 115,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 25,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 18 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 210 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased five percent from last year's August.
69,300 nights (-7.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 19,200 nights (+7.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 688,000 registered bed nights (+7.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 88,600 (+326.1 %) for foreigners in Kristiansand Region, in total 777,000 (+18.0 %) registered nights.

71,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 11 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 80.7 percent were domestic, and 19.3 percent were from foreign countries.
During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kristiansand Region on average 2.0 nights (+0.13) and foreigners 1.8 nights (+0.09).

Registered accommodation sales in August were 62.7 million crowns (+2.0 million).
Registered January-August sales were 368.7 million crowns and they increased 86.6 million crowns from the previous year.
