Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 24 percent

In June 2021, 115,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Kristiansand Region (+24.1 %), of which 114,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 25 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 22 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 24 percent from last year's June.

54,900 nights (+14.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 11,400 nights (-34.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 221,000 registered bed nights (+16.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,900 (-16.6 %) for foreigners in Kristiansand Region, in total 229,000 (+14.9 %) registered nights.

Market share 4.2 percent

Total of 2.8 million registered bed nights (+18.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.6 million nights (+18.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 143,000 nights (+11.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kristiansand Region out of total registered bed nights was 4.2 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 4.3 % and foreign bed nights 1.0 %.

Length of stay increased 19 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 19 percent compared to earlier year. In Kristiansand Region, length of stay in June was on average 2.4 nights and in Norway 2.2 nights (+6.9 %).

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kristiansand Region on average 2.4 nights (+17.6 %) and foreigners 1.7 nights (+24.7 %).

47,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.2 percent were domestic, and 1.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kristiansand Region on average 2.4 nights (+0.38) and foreigners 1.7 nights (+0.01).
