Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 42 percent

In October 2021, 64,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Kristiansand Region (+42.5 %), of which 61,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 40 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 117 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 42 percent from last year's October.

32,900 nights (+50.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 22,200 nights (+26.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 748,000 registered bed nights (+11.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 28,100 (-3.6 %) for foreigners in Kristiansand Region, in total 776,000 (+11.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 2.7 percent

Total of 2.4 million registered bed nights (+57.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.1 million nights (+50.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 306,000 nights (+120.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kristiansand Region out of total registered bed nights was 2.7 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 3.0 % and foreign bed nights 1.0 %.

Length of stay increased six percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. In Kristiansand Region, length of stay in October was on average 1.7 nights and in Norway 1.9 nights (-5.9 %).

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kristiansand Region on average 1.7 nights (+7.2 %) and foreigners 1.7 nights (+1.5 %).

36,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 34 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.8 percent were domestic, and 5.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kristiansand Region on average 1.7 nights (+0.11) and foreigners 1.7 nights (-0.04).
