Registered bed nights increased 35 percent

In December 2021, 10,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Kristianstad (+35.4 %), of which 9,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 29 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 114 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 35 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (300 nights).

3,100 rooms (+115.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,000 rooms (+71.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 337,000 registered bed nights (+10.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 36,800 (+86.6 %) for foreigners in Kristianstad, in total 374,000 (+15.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+85.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+74.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 553,000 nights (+166.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kristianstad out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

5,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 85 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 89.5 percent were domestic, and 10.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kristianstad on average 2.0 nights (-0.75) and foreigners 2.2 nights (-0.81).
