Registered bed nights increased 22 percent

In May 2022, 44,100 registered bed nights were recorded in Kristianstad (+21.7 %), of which 38,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 6,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 10 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 280 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 22 percent from last year's May.

8,300 rooms (+58.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,100 rooms (+49.0 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 98,600 registered bed nights (+23.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 13,300 (+166.8 %) for foreigners in Kristianstad, in total 112,000 (+31.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kristianstad out of total registered bed nights was 0.8 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 0.6 %.

20,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 36 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 86.0 percent were domestic, and 14.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kristianstad on average 2.2 nights (-0.21) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.88).
