Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased five percent

In August 2020, 60,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Kristianstad (+4.9 %), of which 57,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 28 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 75 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased five percent from last year's August.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (950 nights).

9,000 rooms (-9.6 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,800 rooms (-26.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 253,000 registered bed nights (+4.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 14,300 (-74.8 %) for foreigners in Kristianstad, in total 267,000 (-10.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 6.1 million registered bed nights (-31.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.4 million nights (-10.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 615,000 nights (-77.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kristianstad out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (+0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay increased six percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. In Kristianstad, length of stay in August was on average 2.3 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (+6.0 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kristianstad on average 2.3 nights (+8.8 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-4.3 %).

26,400 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased one percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.3 percent were domestic, and 6.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kristianstad on average 2.3 nights (+0.15) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.33).
