Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 39 percent

In May 2021, 36,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Kristianstad (+39.2 %), of which 34,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 37 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 127 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 39 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (230 nights).

5,000 rooms (+97.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,200 rooms (+117.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 80,200 registered bed nights (+22.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,000 (-21.1 %) for foreigners in Kristianstad, in total 85,200 (+18.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.3 million registered bed nights (+46.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+45.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 291,000 nights (+65.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kristianstad out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.5 %.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 11 percent compared to earlier year. In Kristianstad, length of stay in May was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-5.3 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kristianstad on average 2.4 nights (-2.4 %) and foreigners 3.0 nights (+20.5 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 56 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.5 percent were domestic, and 3.5 percent were from foreign countries.
