Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 64 percent

In May 2021, 51,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Kronoberg County (+64.3 %), of which 42,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 9,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 64 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 67 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 64 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (3,300 nights).

7,800 rooms (+59.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 12,400 rooms (+73.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 123,000 registered bed nights (-7.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 20,800 (-9.0 %) for foreigners in Kronoberg County, in total 144,000 (-7.8 %) registered nights.

Market share 1.6 percent

Total of 3.3 million registered bed nights (+46.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+45.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 291,000 nights (+65.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kronoberg County out of total registered bed nights was 1.6 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.4 % and foreign bed nights 3.2 %.

Length of stay was 2.3 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Kronoberg County, length of stay in May was on average 2.3 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-5.3 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kronoberg County on average 2.1 nights (+10.1 %) and foreigners 5.9 nights (+37.3 %).

22,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 68 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.8 percent were domestic, and 7.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kronoberg County on average 2.1 nights (-0.05) and foreigners 5.9 nights (+0.1).
