Registered bed nights increased 164 percent

In December 2021, 9,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Kungälv (+163.9 %), of which 8,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 156 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 230 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 164 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (370 nights).

5,400 rooms (+172.0 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,500 rooms (+176.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 140,000 registered bed nights (+27.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 15,500 (+109.9 %) for foreigners in Kungälv, in total 155,000 (+32.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+85.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+74.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 553,000 nights (+166.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kungälv out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

6,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 270 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.5 percent were domestic, and 14.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kungälv on average 1.5 nights (-0.46) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-2.7).
