Registered bed nights increased 34 percent

In May 2022, 16,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Kungälv (+34.3 %), of which 13,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 19 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 230 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 34 percent from last year's May.

6,300 rooms (+31.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,400 rooms (+184.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 46,000 registered bed nights (+55.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 8,800 (+369.7 %) for foreigners in Kungälv, in total 54,800 (+74.6 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.3 percent

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kungälv out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.3 %.

9,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 40 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 83.8 percent were domestic, and 16.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kungälv on average 1.7 nights (-0.05) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-1.1).
