Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased nine percent

In December 2018, 8,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Kungälv (+9.4 %), of which 7,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 500 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 21 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased nine percent from last year's December.

3,900 rooms (-4.1 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,100 rooms (+68.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 142,000 registered bed nights (+1.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 31,000 (+1.2 %) for foreigners in Kungälv, in total 173,000 (+1.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kungälv out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay was 1.5 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. In Kungälv, length of stay in December was on average 1.5 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kungälv on average 1.5 nights (+3.9 %) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-10.7 %).

5,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 18 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.5 percent were domestic, and 5.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kungälv on average 1.5 nights (-0.1) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.51).
