Paid bed nights

3,600 registered bed nights

In December 2020, 3,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Kungälv (-52.8 %), of which 3,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 53 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 55 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 53 percent from last year's December.

1,800 rooms (-52.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 520 rooms (-13.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 110,000 registered bed nights (-21.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 7,400 (-79.2 %) for foreigners in Kungälv, in total 117,000 (-33.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (-47.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.6 million nights (-40.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 208,000 nights (-72.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kungälv out of total registered bed nights was 0.2 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.2 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased 60 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 60 percent compared to earlier year. In Kungälv, length of stay in December was on average 2.5 nights and in Sweden 2.8 nights (+37.5 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kungälv on average 2.3 nights (+7.6 %) and foreigners 4.5 nights (-40.9 %).

1,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 70 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.9 percent were domestic, and 6.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kungälv on average 2.3 nights (+0.82) and foreigners 4.5 nights (+2.6).
