Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased seven percent

In March 2021, 4,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Kungälv (+7.4 %), of which 4,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 193 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 20 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased seven percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (38 nights).

2,300 rooms (+26.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 730 rooms (-6.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 11,300 registered bed nights (-22.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 640 (-48.8 %) for foreigners in Kungälv, in total 11,900 (-24.1 %) registered nights.

Total of 2.9 million registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+11.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 218,000 nights (-46.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kungälv out of total registered bed nights was 0.1 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.1 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased 32 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 32 percent compared to earlier year. In Kungälv, length of stay in March was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 3.2 nights (+21.8 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kungälv on average 1.9 nights (+43.7 %) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-10.4 %).

2,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 18 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.7 percent were domestic, and 6.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kungälv on average 1.9 nights (+0.5) and foreigners 1.4 nights (-0.16).
