3,500 registered bed nights

In April 2020, 3,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Kuopio (-90.0 %), of which 3,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 370 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 90 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 85 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 90 percent from last year's April.

1,600 nights (-92.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,900 nights (-85.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and April, 104,000 registered bed nights (-32.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 15,300 (-29.6 %) for foreigners in Kuopio, in total 120,000 (-32.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 190,000 registered bed nights (-88.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 173,000 nights (-85.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 16,800 nights (-95.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kuopio out of total registered bed nights was 1.9 % (-0.4 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.8 % and foreign bed nights 2.2 %.

Length of stay increased 29 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 29 percent compared to earlier year. In Kuopio, length of stay in April was on average 2.2 nights and in Finland 2.9 nights (+52.5 %).

During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kuopio on average 2.1 nights (+6.7 %) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+3.4 %).
