In December 2020, 22,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Kuopio (-37.4 %), of which 22,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 290 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 32 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 91 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 37 percent from last year's December.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (51 nights).
16,800 nights (-37.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,100 nights (-37.4 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 388,000 registered bed nights (-20.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 20,900 (-63.4 %) for foreigners in Kuopio, in total 409,000 (-25.0 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased two percent compared to earlier year. In Kuopio, length of stay in December was on average 1.7 nights and in Finland 2.3 nights (+15.3 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kuopio on average 1.7 nights (+6.0 %) and foreigners 2.3 nights (+23.2 %).
