Registered bed nights increased 27 percent (March)

In March 2022, 101,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Kuusamo (+27.3 %), of which 92,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 8,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 17 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 3,300 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 27 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (2,600 nights).

88,700 nights (+19.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 12,000 nights (+140.4 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 197,000 registered bed nights (+6.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 48,600 (+1,912.8 %) for foreigners in Kuusamo, in total 245,000 (+30.9 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (+105.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.4 million nights (+70.7 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 377,000 nights (+699.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Kuusamo out of total registered bed nights was 5.7 % (-3.5 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 6.6 % and foreign bed nights 2.3 %.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 46 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.9 percent were domestic, and 7.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kuusamo on average 3.9 nights (-0.65) and foreigners 4.8 nights (+1.8).
