102,000 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 102,000 bed nights (-21.8 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Kuusamo in February 2019. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 74 % and non-registered 26 %.
Between January and February, the number of paid bed nights was 192,000 (-16.5 %). Share of registered was 67 % and non-registered 33 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Paid bed nights
74,800 registered bed nights
In February 2019, 74,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Kuusamo (-3.9 %), of which 52,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 22,300 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased seven percent and registered foreign bed nights increased three percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased four percent from last year's February.
69,400 nights (+4.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,400 nights (-52.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 74,200 registered bed nights (-8.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 54,400 (+6.8 %) for foreigners in Kuusamo, in total 129,000 (-2.8 %) registered nights.

Length of stay increased five percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. In Kuusamo, length of stay in February was on average 4.2 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-1.3 %).
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kuusamo on average 3.9 nights (+1.8 %) and foreigners 5.2 nights (+5.4 %).
17,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 75.8 percent were domestic, and 24.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kuusamo on average 3.9 nights (+0.14) and foreigners 5.2 nights (+0.3).

The airport received a total of 9,900 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased two percent.

Accommodation sales 4.0 million euro
Total accommodation sales in February were 4.0 million euro (+115,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 21.9 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 3.2 million euro (+457,000) and non-registered sales 885,000 euro (-341,000).
Total January-February sales were 7.1 million euro and they increased 274,000 euro from the previous year.
