166,000 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 166,000 bed nights (+13.0 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Kuusamo in March 2022. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 61 % and non-registered 39 %.
Between January and March, the number of paid bed nights was 407,000 (+10.1 %). Share of registered was 61 % and non-registered 39 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Paid bed nights
Registered bed nights increased 29 percent
In March 2022, 102,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Kuusamo (+28.8 %), of which 93,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 8,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 19 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 3,100 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 29 percent from last year's March.
90,600 nights (+22.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 11,200 nights (+124.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 199,000 registered bed nights (+7.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 48,200 (+1,892.8 %) for foreigners in Kuusamo, in total 247,000 (+31.6 %) registered nights.

Length of stay was 4.0 nights in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 12 percent compared to earlier year. In Kuusamo, length of stay in March was on average 4.0 nights and in Finland 2.2 nights (-18.8 %).
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kuusamo on average 3.9 nights (-9.4 %) and foreigners 4.9 nights (-13.0 %).
25,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 47 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.5 percent were domestic, and 6.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kuusamo on average 3.9 nights (-0.63) and foreigners 4.9 nights (+2.0).

Accommodation sales 7.1 million euro
Total accommodation sales in March were 7.1 million euro (+1.4 million). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 30.0 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 5.0 million euro (+1.5 million) and non-registered sales 2.1 million euro (-42,800).
Total January-March sales were 17.6 million euro and they increased 3.5 million euro from the previous year.
