8,900 registered bed nights (February)
In February 2021, 8,900 bed nights were recorded in Kymenlaakso (-33.0 %), of which 7,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 970 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 25 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 64 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 33 percent from last year's February.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (163 nights).
3,600 nights (-41.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,300 nights (-26.1 %) by business visitors.
Between January and February, 14,400 bed nights (-29.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,000 (-72.5 %) for foreigners in Kymenlaakso, in total 16,500 (-40.6 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

5,000 tourists arrived to accommodation (February)
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 44 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 92.5 percent were domestic, and 7.5 percent were from foreign countries.
During February, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kymenlaakso on average 1.7 nights (+0.31) and foreigners 2.6 nights (+0.7).

22,700 Russian travelers via eastern border (February)
A total of 22,700 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.

There was a total of 940 visa applications to Finland made by the Russians. 38.0 percent were done at St. Petersburg's consulate.
Foreign visitors and their consumption (February)
The number of foreign visitors in February was 5,500 (-73.4 %). Out of them 4,200 were on a daytrip and 1,300 stayed at least for one night.
The cumulative number of foreign visitors between January and February was 8,900 (-84.8 %).
Total consumption of these visitors in Kymenlaakso in February was 760,000 euro (138 per visitor). Overnight visitors spent 212,000 euro and day visitors 549,000 euro. Between January and February the consumption was 1.2 million euro.
