Kymenlaakso: Tourism in a nutshell
51,500 registered bed nights (July)
In July 2020, 51,500 bed nights were recorded in Kymenlaakso (-10.3 %), of which 48,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,900 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased less than one percent and foreign bed nights decreased 67 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 10 percent from last year's July.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (560 nights).
43,400 nights (-10.3 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 8,100 nights (-10.3 %) by business visitors.
Between January and July, 113,000 bed nights (-24.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 14,100 (-60.6 %) for foreigners in Kymenlaakso, in total 127,000 (-31.7 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 97.1 percent were domestic, and 2.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During July, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kymenlaakso on average 1.5 nights (-0.05) and foreigners 3.0 nights (+1.1).

A total of 24,600 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.

There was a total of 51,600 visa applications to Finland made by the Russians. 83.4 percent were done at St. Petersburg's consulate.
Accommodation sales 1.8 million euro (July)
Registered accommodation sales in July were 1.8 million euro (-484,000).
Registered January-July sales were 6.3 million euro and they decreased 3.5 million euro from the previous year.
