12,900 registered bed nights
In December 2018, 12,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Kymenlaakso (-1.7 %), of which 9,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased nine percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 27 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased two percent from last year's December.
7,000 nights (+9.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 5,900 nights (-11.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and December, 217,000 registered bed nights (-8.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 55,300 (+6.2 %) for foreigners in Kymenlaakso, in total 272,000 (-5.5 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased 16 percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 16 percent compared to earlier year. In Kymenlaakso, length of stay in December was on average 1.6 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (+1.4 %).
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kymenlaakso on average 1.5 nights (-2.9 %) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+4.6 %).
7,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 15 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 78.2 percent were domestic, and 21.8 percent were from foreign countries.
During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kymenlaakso on average 1.5 nights (+0.18) and foreigners 2.0 nights (+0.31).
