Registered bed nights increased 10 percent
In April 2019, 16,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Kymenlaakso (+10.1 %), of which 13,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 13 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased one percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 10 percent from last year's April.
8,100 nights (+18.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 8,600 nights (+3.5 %) by business visitors.
Between January and April, 46,600 registered bed nights (+13.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 14,300 (-3.3 %) for foreigners in Kymenlaakso, in total 60,900 (+9.2 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay increased one percent in registered accommodation
Length of stay in registered accommodation increased one percent compared to earlier year. In Kymenlaakso, length of stay in April was on average 1.7 nights and in Finland 1.9 nights (-0.4 %).
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kymenlaakso on average 1.6 nights (+7.5 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-11.4 %).
9,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 82.0 percent were domestic, and 18.0 percent were from foreign countries.
During April, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Kymenlaakso on average 1.6 nights (+0.06) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.14).

A total of 249,000 Russians arrived in Finland over the eastern border crossings.
