Lahti Region: Tourism in a nutshell
28,600 registered bed nights
In March 2019, 28,600 bed nights were recorded in Lahti Region (-3.8 %), of which 23,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,200 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased four percent and foreign bed nights decreased 29 percent. In total, bed nights decreased four percent from last year's March.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (690 nights).
10,900 nights (-10.4 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 17,700 nights (+0.7 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 63,900 bed nights (+8.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 20,900 (+0.5 %) for foreigners in Lahti Region, in total 84,800 (+6.5 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Total of 1.9 million bed nights (-2.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.3 million nights (-2.6 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 566,000 nights (-1.4 %) by foreigners.
The market share of Lahti Region out of total bed nights was 1.5 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.9 %.
15,900 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 87.1 percent were domestic, and 12.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lahti Region on average 1.7 nights (+0.04) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-0.3).

Registered accommodation sales in March were 1.6 million euro (-172,000).
Registered January-March sales were 4.7 million euro and they increased 210,000 euro from the previous year.
