Registered bed nights increased 14 percent

In November 2019, 28,400 bed nights were recorded in Lahti Region (+13.6 %), of which 22,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,500 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights increased 10 percent and foreign bed nights increased 30 percent. In total, bed nights increased 14 percent from last year's November.

Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (740 nights).

12,000 nights (+28.1 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 16,400 nights (+4.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 273,000 bed nights (+1.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 80,000 (+18.2 %) for foreigners in Lahti Region, in total 353,000 (+4.8 %) nights.

Market share 1.8 percent

Total of 1.6 million bed nights (+5.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (+5.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 457,000 nights (+4.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lahti Region out of total bed nights was 1.8 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.1 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

17,400 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 16 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 88.1 percent were domestic, and 11.9 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lahti Region on average 1.5 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+0.39).

Accommodation sales 1.6 million euro

Registered accommodation sales in November were 1.6 million euro (+240,000).

Registered January-November sales were 19.3 million euro and they increased 2.1 million euro from the previous year.
