24,200 registered bed nights

In October 2019, 24,200 bed nights were recorded in Lahti (-7.5 %), of which 19,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 4,700 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased six percent and foreign bed nights decreased 12 percent. In total, bed nights decreased seven percent from last year's October.

6,900 nights (-13.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 17,300 nights (-5.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and October, 186,000 bed nights (-3.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 62,700 (+18.4 %) for foreigners in Lahti, in total 248,000 (+1.1 %) nights.

Total of 1.7 million bed nights (+7.1 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.2 million nights (+5.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 436,000 nights (+12.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lahti out of total bed nights was 1.4 % (-0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.6 % and foreign bed nights 1.1 %.

13,300 tourists arrived to accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased seven percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 85.5 percent were domestic, and 14.5 percent were from foreign countries.

During October, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lahti on average 1.7 nights (-0.05) and foreigners 2.5 nights (+0.26).

2,300 international congress guests in 2019

The number of international congress quests increased 34 percent from the previous year.

There was a total of 19 congresses organized (+7.0) in 2019.

Accommodation sales 1.5 million euro

Registered accommodation sales in October were 1.5 million euro (+80,700).

Registered January-October sales were 14.4 million euro and they increased 1.3 million euro from the previous year.
