Lahti: Tourism in a nutshell
Registered bed nights increased one percent
In June 2019, 28,600 bed nights were recorded in Lahti (+0.6 %), of which 19,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 9,500 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 12 percent and foreign bed nights increased 41 percent. In total, bed nights increased one percent from last year's June.
Most foreign bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (960 nights).
10,200 nights (-22.7 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 18,400 nights (+20.9 %) by business visitors.
Between January and June, 108,000 bed nights (+1.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 37,500 (+19.7 %) for foreigners in Lahti, in total 145,000 (+5.9 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

13,700 tourists arrived to accommodation
Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased five percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 75.9 percent were domestic, and 24.1 percent were from foreign countries.
During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lahti on average 1.8 nights (-0.12) and foreigners 2.9 nights (+0.81).
2,300 international congress guests in 2019
The number of international congress quests increased 34 percent from the previous year.
There was a total of 19 congresses organized (+7.0) in 2019.
