Registered bed nights increased 14 percent
In March 2023, 24,300 registered bed nights were recorded in Lahti (+14.3 %), of which 19,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 5,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 19 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased two percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 14 percent from last year's March.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (890 nights).
6,500 nights (-8.0 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 17,800 nights (+25.4 %) by business visitors.
Between January and March, 43,500 registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 21,000 (+130.6 %) for foreigners in Lahti, in total 64,600 (+24.3 %) registered nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.
Paid bed nights forecast, Lahti
In April 2023, the number of bed nights in paid accommodation is expected to increase by 7.1 % compared to the previous year.
The number of bed nights is expected to increase by 3.3 % in the next six months compared to the previous year.
The forecast is based on a time series model (SARIMA), which is supplemented with exogenous (external) explanatory variables.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 21 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 87.8 percent were domestic, and 12.2 percent were from foreign countries.
During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lahti on average 1.8 nights (-0.02) and foreigners 3.3 nights (-0.87).
