Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 45 percent

In December 2021, 9,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Länsi-Uusimaa (+45.4 %), of which 8,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 36 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 182 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 45 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Estonia (196 nights).

5,500 nights (+12.8 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 4,300 nights (+129.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 238,000 registered bed nights (+10.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 11,000 (+15.3 %) for foreigners in Länsi-Uusimaa, in total 249,000 (+10.4 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.6 percent

Total of 1.6 million registered bed nights (+109.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.0 million nights (+44.5 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 593,000 nights (+823.7 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Länsi-Uusimaa out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased four percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased four percent compared to earlier year. In Länsi-Uusimaa, length of stay in December was on average 1.7 nights and in Finland 2.2 nights (-5.9 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Länsi-Uusimaa on average 1.6 nights (+3.6 %) and foreigners 3.1 nights (+11.5 %).

5,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 39 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.4 percent were domestic, and 6.6 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Länsi-Uusimaa on average 1.6 nights (-0.01) and foreigners 3.1 nights (+1.1).
