Registered bed nights increased 105 percent (November)

In November 2021, 157,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Lapland (+105.2 %), of which 91,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 65,100 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 37 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 600 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 105 percent from last year's November.

106,000 nights (+131.6 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 50,800 nights (+65.8 %) by business visitors.

Between January and November, 1.7 million registered bed nights (+44.6 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 192,000 (-75.0 %) for foreigners in Lapland, in total 1.8 million (-3.3 %) registered nights.

Market share 11.2 percent (November)

Total of 1.4 million registered bed nights (+70.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.1 million nights (+52.8 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 279,000 nights (+221.1 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lapland out of total registered bed nights was 11.2 % (+1.9 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 8.2 % and foreign bed nights 23.4 %.

59,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation (November)

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 141 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 62.7 percent were domestic, and 37.3 percent were from foreign countries.

During November, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lapland on average 2.4 nights (-0.46) and foreigners 2.9 nights (-2.4).

1,200 air travelers (Kemi)

The airport received a total of 1,200 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 670 percent.

Of local passengers, 0.9 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 99.1 %.

In addition, there were 1,100 passengers departing the airport (+886.6 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 2,300 (+760.1 %).

The airport received a total of 26,100 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 840 percent.

Of local passengers, 53.0 % arrived from abroad, thus the share of domestic passengers was 47.0 %.

In addition, there were 24,900 passengers departing the airport (+1,014.1 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 51,000 (+918.0 %).

The airport received a total of 56,500 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 1,100 percent.

In addition, there were 51,200 passengers departing the airport (+1,103.6 %), therefore the total number of trips via the airport was 108,000 (+1,079.9 %).

The airport received a total of 45,500 passengers, which means air passenger arrivals increased 510 percent.
