In January 2018, 32,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Lappeenranta (+5.7 %), of which 18,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 14,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 14 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased four percent. In total, registered bed nights increased six percent from last year's January.
Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (12,400 nights).
25,600 nights (+9.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 6,700 nights (-6.9 %) by business visitors.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. In Lappeenranta, length of stay in January was on average 1.9 nights and in Finland 2.0 nights (-0.3 %).
