Lappeenranta: Tourism in a nutshell
7,200 registered bed nights
In May 2020, 7,200 bed nights were recorded in Lappeenranta (-79.7 %), of which 7,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 149 nights by foreigners. Domestic bed nights decreased 71 percent and foreign bed nights decreased 99 percent. In total, bed nights decreased 80 percent from last year's May.
4,700 nights (-78.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 2,400 nights (-81.8 %) by business visitors.
Between January and May, 66,400 bed nights (-43.4 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 23,600 (-48.3 %) for foreigners in Lappeenranta, in total 90,000 (-44.8 %) nights.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 85 percent compared to earlier year. Of all arrivals, 98.1 percent were domestic, and 1.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lappeenranta on average 2.5 nights (+0.63) and foreigners 2.7 nights (+0.68).
