Registered bed nights increased 26 percent

In January 2022, 17,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Lappeenranta (+26.2 %), of which 17,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 530 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 25 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 104 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 26 percent from last year's January.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Russia (112 nights).

13,900 nights (+28.5 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 3,600 nights (+18.2 %) by business visitors.

Total of 1.0 million registered bed nights (+50.9 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 691,000 nights (+9.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 342,000 nights (+558.5 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lappeenranta out of total registered bed nights was 1.7 % (-0.3 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 2.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

Length of stay increased eight percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased eight percent compared to earlier year. In Lappeenranta, length of stay in January was on average 2.2 nights and in Finland 2.4 nights (+10.2 %).

During January, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lappeenranta on average 2.2 nights and foreigners 2.0 nights .

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 17 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.6 percent were domestic, and 3.4 percent were from foreign countries.
