Registered bed nights increased 64 percent

In May 2022, 22,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Leksand (+64.4 %), of which 21,600 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 840 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 60 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 530 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 64 percent from last year's May.

6,700 rooms (+9.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,800 rooms (+299.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 77,800 registered bed nights (+41.1 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,000 (+202.4 %) for foreigners in Leksand, in total 79,800 (+43.0 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.4 percent

Total of 5.4 million registered bed nights (+64.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.4 million nights (+46.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 993,000 nights (+241.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Leksand out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

12,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 89 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.6 percent were domestic, and 3.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Leksand on average 1.8 nights (-0.27) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.89).
