Registered bed nights increased 124 percent

In December 2021, 21,200 registered bed nights were recorded in Leksand (+123.6 %), of which 20,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 1,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 115 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 620 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 124 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (510 nights).

10,500 rooms (+85.5 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,800 rooms (+980.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 288,000 registered bed nights (+18.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 13,300 (+312.1 %) for foreigners in Leksand, in total 301,000 (+22.2 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.6 percent

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+85.2 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.8 million nights (+74.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 553,000 nights (+166.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Leksand out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.7 % and foreign bed nights 0.2 %.

10,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 151 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.8 percent were domestic, and 3.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Leksand on average 2.1 nights (-0.29) and foreigners 3.7 nights (-0.13).
