Paid bed nights

15,400 registered bed nights

In September 2018, 15,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Leksand (-13.6 %), of which 15,000 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 450 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 13 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 36 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 14 percent from last year's September.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Germany (76 nights).

5,200 rooms (-6.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 2,800 rooms (-9.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and September, 266,000 registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 29,600 (+2.7 %) for foreigners in Leksand, in total 296,000 (+2.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.4 million registered bed nights (-0.4 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.3 million nights (-1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.2 million nights (+2.0 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Leksand out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (-0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Length of stay was 1.9 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased six percent compared to earlier year. In Leksand, length of stay in September was on average 1.9 nights and in Sweden 1.9 nights (+0.8 %).

During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Leksand on average 1.9 nights (+2.6 %) and foreigners 2.4 nights (+8.6 %).

8,200 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased eight percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 97.7 percent were domestic, and 2.3 percent were from foreign countries.
