Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 16 percent

In May 2019, 19,800 registered bed nights were recorded in Leksand (+16.4 %), of which 19,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 670 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 16 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 21 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 16 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (88 nights).

5,700 rooms (+16.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,300 rooms (-3.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 78,200 registered bed nights (+2.8 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,400 (+15.7 %) for foreigners in Leksand, in total 80,600 (+3.2 %) registered nights.

Total of 5.3 million registered bed nights (+3.0 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 4.1 million nights (+6.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 1.3 million nights (-5.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Leksand out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased six percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased six percent compared to earlier year. In Leksand, length of stay in May was on average 2.3 nights and in Sweden 1.8 nights (-5.1 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Leksand on average 2.3 nights (+7.0 %) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-19.9 %).

8,700 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 96.0 percent were domestic, and 4.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Leksand on average 2.3 nights (+0.16) and foreigners 1.9 nights (-0.72).
