Registered bed nights increased four percent

In June 2019, 41,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Leksand (+4.3 %), of which 38,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,000 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased four percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 10 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's June.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (1,200 nights).

11,100 rooms (+17.8 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 3,200 rooms (+8.3 %) by business visitors.

Between January and June, 117,000 registered bed nights (+3.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 5,400 (+12.5 %) for foreigners in Leksand, in total 122,000 (+3.5 %) registered nights.

Market share 0.6 percent

Total of 7.1 million registered bed nights (+7.5 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.0 million nights (+8.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 2.1 million nights (+5.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Leksand out of total registered bed nights was 0.6 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

19,500 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.8 percent were domestic, and 7.2 percent were from foreign countries.

During June, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Leksand on average 2.2 nights (+0.13) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.09).
