44,000 registered bed nights

In August 2020, 44,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Leksand (-6.4 %), of which 43,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 720 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased two percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 85 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased six percent from last year's August.

8,700 rooms (-14.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 1,600 rooms (-43.1 %) by business visitors.

Between January and August, 190,000 registered bed nights (-25.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,500 (-92.5 %) for foreigners in Leksand, in total 192,000 (-33.0 %) registered nights.

Total of 6.1 million registered bed nights (-31.8 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 5.4 million nights (-10.9 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 615,000 nights (-77.9 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Leksand out of total registered bed nights was 0.7 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.8 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased 14 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 14 percent compared to earlier year. In Leksand, length of stay in August was on average 2.8 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (+6.0 %).

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Leksand on average 2.8 nights (+3.9 %) and foreigners 3.3 nights (-0.1 %).

15,900 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 18 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.6 percent were domestic, and 1.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Leksand on average 2.8 nights (+0.37) and foreigners 3.3 nights (+0.45).
