Paid bed nights

9,500 registered bed nights

In December 2020, 9,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Leksand (-51.1 %), of which 9,300 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 163 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 51 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 59 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 51 percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from France (66 nights).

3,300 rooms (-53.3 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 126 rooms (-90.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 243,000 registered bed nights (-25.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 3,200 (-90.7 %) for foreigners in Leksand, in total 247,000 (-31.4 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (-47.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.6 million nights (-40.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 208,000 nights (-72.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Leksand out of total registered bed nights was 0.5 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.6 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased 26 percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased 26 percent compared to earlier year. In Leksand, length of stay in December was on average 2.7 nights and in Sweden 2.8 nights (+37.5 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Leksand on average 2.6 nights (+4.4 %) and foreigners 5.4 nights (+11.5 %).

3,600 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 61 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.2 percent were domestic, and 0.8 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Leksand on average 2.6 nights (+0.51) and foreigners 5.4 nights (+3.6).
