Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 41 percent

In May 2021, 13,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Leksand (+41.1 %), of which 13,500 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 132 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 41 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 128 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 41 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Norway (38 nights).

4,500 rooms (+72.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 600 rooms (+37.2 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 55,100 registered bed nights (-0.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 680 (-31.0 %) for foreigners in Leksand, in total 55,800 (-0.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.3 million registered bed nights (+46.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+45.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 291,000 nights (+65.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Leksand out of total registered bed nights was 0.4 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.5 % and foreign bed nights 0.0 %.

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased 16 percent compared to earlier year. In Leksand, length of stay in May was on average 2.4 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-5.3 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Leksand on average 2.4 nights (+0.5 %) and foreigners 4.1 nights (+27.3 %).

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 68 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 99.4 percent were domestic, and 0.6 percent were from foreign countries.
