Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased three percent

In December 2018, 8,600 registered bed nights were recorded in Lidingö (+3.2 %), of which 7,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 690 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased five percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 17 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased three percent from last year's December.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United Kingdom (82 nights).

1,200 rooms (+35.4 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 5,100 rooms (-0.7 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 147,000 registered bed nights (-3.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 15,400 (+2.2 %) for foreigners in Lidingö, in total 162,000 (-2.8 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.4 million registered bed nights (+1.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 2.7 million nights (+1.3 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 787,000 nights (+3.2 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Lidingö out of total registered bed nights was 0.3 % (0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.3 % and foreign bed nights 0.1 %.

Length of stay increased five percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased five percent compared to earlier year. In Lidingö, length of stay in December was on average 1.7 nights and in Sweden 2.1 nights (-0.1 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lidingö on average 1.7 nights (+5.9 %) and foreigners 2.1 nights (+9.7 %).

5,000 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased two percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 93.3 percent were domestic, and 6.7 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lidingö on average 1.7 nights (+0.1) and foreigners 2.1 nights (-0.08).
