25,800 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 25,800 bed nights (-20.9 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Lieksa in August 2021. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 62 % and non-registered 38 %.
Between January and August, the number of paid bed nights was 183,000 (-3.2 %). Share of registered was 51 % and non-registered 49 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Registered bed nights increased four percent
In August 2021, 16,000 registered bed nights were recorded in Lieksa (+3.9 %), of which 15,100 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 840 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased three percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 25 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased four percent from last year's August.
14,500 nights (+0.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,500 nights (+61.0 %) by business visitors.
Between January and August, 91,100 registered bed nights (+34.0 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,300 (-41.9 %) for foreigners in Lieksa, in total 93,400 (+29.8 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 95.2 percent were domestic, and 4.8 percent were from foreign countries.
During August, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lieksa on average 2.3 nights (+0.29) and foreigners 2.5 nights (-0.28).

Accommodation sales 1.3 million euro
Total accommodation sales in August were 1.3 million euro (-61,400). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 20.9 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 1.0 million euro (+245,000) and non-registered sales 270,000 euro (-307,000).
Total January-August sales were 8.3 million euro and they increased 11,200 euro from the previous year.
