22,000 bed nights in paid accommodation
Total of 22,000 bed nights (-25.9 %) were recorded in paid accommodation in Lieksa in September 2021. This figure includes bed nights at registered establishments as well as at AirBnB and Vrbo. The share of registered bed nights was 56 % and non-registered 44 %.
Between January and September, the number of paid bed nights was 211,000 (-3.6 %). Share of registered was 53 % and non-registered 47 %.
Registered bed nights statistics include stats for registered accommodations: hotels, motels, guest houses, hostels, holiday villages and campsites. Establishments with fewer than 20 beds or caravan lots with an electrical connection point are excluded. Non-registered bed nights statistics include bed nights from AirBnB and Vrbo.
Registered bed nights increased 12 percent
In September 2021, 12,400 registered bed nights were recorded in Lieksa (+12.3 %), of which 12,200 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 12 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 43 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 12 percent from last year's September.
10,900 nights (+5.2 %) were spend by leisure visitors and 1,500 nights (+115.8 %) by business visitors.
Between January and September, 109,000 registered bed nights (+38.3 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 2,700 (-36.2 %) for foreigners in Lieksa, in total 112,000 (+34.6 %) registered nights.

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 17 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 98.1 percent were domestic, and 1.9 percent were from foreign countries.
During September, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Lieksa on average 1.9 nights (-0.07) and foreigners 1.6 nights (-0.15).

Total accommodation sales in September were 998,000 euro (-195,000). The share of Airbnb and Vrbo was 29.5 percent. Therefore, registered accommodation sales were 703,000 euro (+125,000) and non-registered sales 295,000 euro (-319,000).
Total January-September sales were 9.3 million euro and they decreased 193,000 euro from the previous year.
