Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 15 percent

In March 2019, 43,900 registered bed nights were recorded in Linköping (+15.3 %), of which 36,700 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 7,200 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 23 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 13 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 15 percent from last year's March.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from United States (1,000 nights).

8,600 rooms (+13.2 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 22,600 rooms (+16.5 %) by business visitors.

Between January and March, 96,000 registered bed nights (+14.5 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 21,500 (-4.6 %) for foreigners in Linköping, in total 117,000 (+10.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 4.5 million registered bed nights (-3.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.6 million nights (-1.2 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 888,000 nights (-12.6 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Linköping out of total registered bed nights was 1.0 % (+0.2 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.0 % and foreign bed nights 0.8 %.

Length of stay was 1.6 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased five percent compared to earlier year. In Linköping, length of stay in March was on average 1.6 nights and in Sweden 2.2 nights (-4.6 %).

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Linköping on average 1.5 nights (-5.5 %) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-13.0 %).

27,800 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 22 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 85.6 percent were domestic, and 14.4 percent were from foreign countries.

During March, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Linköping on average 1.5 nights (-0.05) and foreigners 1.8 nights (-0.23).
