Paid bed nights

16,700 registered bed nights

In December 2020, 16,700 registered bed nights were recorded in Linköping (-47.9 %), of which 14,400 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 2,400 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights decreased 47 percent and registered foreign bed nights decreased 54 percent. In total, registered bed nights decreased 48 percent from last year's December.

4,600 rooms (-35.7 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 6,600 rooms (-53.6 %) by business visitors.

Between January and December, 375,000 registered bed nights (-27.2 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 57,800 (-50.6 %) for foreigners in Linköping, in total 433,000 (-31.5 %) registered nights.

Total of 1.8 million registered bed nights (-47.3 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 1.6 million nights (-40.0 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 208,000 nights (-72.8 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Linköping out of total registered bed nights was 0.9 % (-0.0 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 0.9 % and foreign bed nights 1.1 %.

Length of stay increased nine percent in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation increased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Linköping, length of stay in December was on average 1.8 nights and in Sweden 2.8 nights (+37.5 %).

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Linköping on average 1.7 nights (+8.7 %) and foreigners 3.6 nights (+87.7 %).

9,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation decreased 52 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 92.9 percent were domestic, and 7.1 percent were from foreign countries.

During December, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Linköping on average 1.7 nights (+0.14) and foreigners 3.6 nights (+0.72).
