Paid bed nights

Registered bed nights increased 59 percent

In May 2021, 35,500 registered bed nights were recorded in Linköping (+59.5 %), of which 31,900 nights were spent by domestic visitors and 3,600 nights by foreigners. Registered domestic bed nights increased 67 percent and registered foreign bed nights increased 15 percent. In total, registered bed nights increased 59 percent from last year's May.

Most foreign registered bed nights were recorded for travelers from Denmark (740 nights).

10,200 rooms (+174.9 %) were booked by leisure visitors and 11,000 rooms (+23.9 %) by business visitors.

Between January and May, 118,000 registered bed nights (-5.9 %) were recorded for domestic visitors and 12,800 (-37.4 %) for foreigners in Linköping, in total 131,000 (-10.3 %) registered nights.

Total of 3.3 million registered bed nights (+46.7 %) were recorded in the whole country, of which 3.0 million nights (+45.1 %) were spent by domestic visitors and 291,000 nights (+65.3 %) by foreigners.

The market share of Linköping out of total registered bed nights was 1.1 % (+0.1 percentage points), out of domestic bed nights 1.1 % and foreign bed nights 1.2 %.

Length of stay was 2.2 nights in registered accommodation

Length of stay in registered accommodation decreased nine percent compared to earlier year. In Linköping, length of stay in May was on average 2.2 nights and in Sweden 2.3 nights (-5.3 %).

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Linköping on average 2.1 nights (+12.6 %) and foreigners 3.7 nights (+9.3 %).

16,100 tourists arrived to registered accommodation

Arrivals to registered accommodation increased 75 percent compared to earlier year. Of all registered arrivals, 94.0 percent were domestic, and 6.0 percent were from foreign countries.

During May, domestic visitors stayed in registered accommodation in Linköping on average 2.1 nights (-0.09) and foreigners 3.7 nights (-2.5).
